How to Evaluate a Supplement Sample Before Approving Production
A sample is a decision point, not a formality. Test it in the conditions in which a customer will actually use the product.

Know what you are testing
Before you open the sample, ask what has been fixed and what is still provisional. Is this the proposed production formula, a flavour trial or a pack mock-up? A prototype may answer a question about taste while leaving stability, filling or packaging compatibility unresolved.
Keep the accompanying specification and sample identifier next to your notes. If two versions are being compared, label them clearly and assess them under the same conditions. Otherwise a preference for one sample can be mistaken for approval of a formula you have not actually reviewed.
Recreate the customer’s use
Prepare a powder with the stated serving size and liquid. Observe how it mixes, how long it takes and whether the texture changes as it stands. Taste it at the temperature at which it is likely to be consumed. For liquids, review sweetness, acidity, aftertaste and the way the bottle pours or closes.
For capsules and tablets, check the proposed serving count and handling experience. For gummies, review size, chew and flavour as well as the stated number of pieces per serving. Have more than one person assess sensory samples, but keep the feedback tied to the intended customer rather than an internal popularity vote.
Give feedback that can be acted on
Separate requirements from preferences. 'Too sweet for a daily serving' is more useful than 'not premium enough'. State what you observed, under what conditions and which change matters most. If you want to compare two flavour directions, say so before asking for another round.
Use one feedback document for the team. Include the sample identifier, date, preparation method, observations and an explicit decision: approve, revise or reject. Where a change affects ingredients, dose or format, ask what else in the specification must be reviewed.
Approve the complete product, not just the taste
A pleasing sample is not a finished order. Confirm the final formula, pack, artwork, test requirements, quantity and destination market together. Ask which characteristics will be checked in production and what variation is acceptable between batches.
Vitaminlabs can work from an existing private label direction or develop a custom formulation. In either route, make the approval specific enough that the production team knows exactly what has been agreed and your brand knows what it will receive.
